He gets up at 7:15 and leaves for his first day of work at 9:30 today (Wed there). He is basically staying with a family. The dad works at a bank near the university and is dropping Ben off every day. He gets breakfast and dinner cooked for him everyday and says the food is good so far. He doesn’t have AC, but he said it was nice and cool this morning (estimated 75). He also does not currently have internet access so he may have trouble updating the blog, but he may be able to get it soon.
He has seen elephants in the street and camels and lots of stray dogs. He said the people are unbelievably nice and he is taking pictures.
That’s all I can remember right now, but keep an eye on our blogs for updates–hopefully soon.
Janean, Drew, Jayla and I got to spend 4 days at Wawasee with Ken, Judy, Kyle, Alyssa and Marshall. The weather was a little scary when we got there and Jayla was worried…but Marshall was enjoying the glory of infancy–the sink bath. Then the sun came out and Jayla and Leslie soaked up some rays (with appropriate sunscreen of course).
Kyle, Alyssa and Drew got their ski on while Jayla watchted with delight. I was unable to get up on one for the first time since I learnerd.
Then we found a little turtle and the sun set on our vacation.
Well, the day has finally arrived that we must see Ben leave us for 10 weeks. That sounds like a long time, but I’m sure time will fly as usual. These were his farewell shots this morning:
